Week 7

Not much has happened this week so sorry if this is a short letter. So this week was my last week being district leader (district leader switches every 3 weeks here in the MTC). I got to serve for an extra week so that was awesome! I'm going to miss it! This week did skype TRC (TRC is where you teach a member) for the first time and it was kind of disappointing because it wasn't a native Korean it was college student who was an RM sitting in his apartment. He wasn't taking the lesson very seriously and kept messing with us so that was annoying but I still tried to learn from it.
sorry the lighting is bad but this is Elder Shumway,
Elder Banks and I for one last picture before they got sent out.
I said good bye to Elder Whitman, Elder Shumway, and Elder Banks this week it was sad saying good bye to them for 2 years. Funny story! So we had a rap battle in our residence room. Their were like 15 of us all watching in our room. It was Elder Youngblood vs. Elder Grifiths. Griffiths roasted Elder Youngblood! It was hilarious Elder Griffiths said, "tonight you better pray for jabi (mercy in Korean) because you're rhyms aren't worth squatty." It was definitely was  the highlight of the week which is kind of sad but hey not much happens in the MTC.
Elder Whitman and I at the Temple. Last time I'll see in 2 years.

Josh also sent his dad a hand written letter for his birthday this week here is the last part where
Josh shares his testimony in Korean

Week 6 MTC-안여하사요!

I am already 2/3s done in the MTC! I can't wait to get to Korea. In our free time we get on google maps and go into street view and look at Busan and it looks amazing! The senior districts left and it was sad saying goodbye to them. So now I am in a senior district. We are also now the biggest branch in the world! I have been so excited to see these new missionaries because they are going to my mission.
This two of the Elders that left. Elder Bratt is the photo bomber in the blue suit
and Elder Olsen is the one with his mouth open haha.

So I have been struggling this week and was feeling down for a few of the days of this week. Elder Youngblood (a elder in my district) could tell that I was feeling down and he quoted Elder Uchdorf and said doubt you're doubt before you doubt you're faith. That made me feel a lot better. I also was reading Genisis in my scriptures that night and  I think it was 18:14 but anyway it was about Sarah, Abraham's wife. And god was telling her she was going to have a baby (Issac) and she laughed in doubt because she was old and a angel said to her,
Elder Olsen and I at the Temple. I was sad saying good bye to him.
"Is anything to hard for the lord?" That was a slap to the face. I realized I need more faith and I should always believe that the Lord will help me.
This is my 당반자 (companion) haha I'll explain the eye patches in the next picture.

So the reason we have eye patches is Elder Stewart (the one on the end right). He closes his right eye for 30 minutes before he goes to sleep because it shuts down a side of you're brain and helps you got to sleep faster. So my companion told his mom to send him a eye patch for Elder Stewart and she sent like 10 so thats why we all have eye patches.

My shirts I got from the store.

안여하사요!

So this week has been great! The weeks are flying by! Sorry last weeks Email was bad and short. I hope this is better. So yesterday Elder Anderson came. As soon he walked in I felt the power of the spirit. My lesson for my "investigator" was awesome! The spirit was inspiring me so much yesterday! The lesson I gave was the first one I felt comfortable and confident when speaking korean and teach the gospel. We taught about the Plan of Salvation. I had the same feeling I get before a football game! Which is good because I'm not afraid and I am so motivated. We translated our names. My name looks like this in korean 심백. So that was way cool. This guy in TRC (TRC is where you teach RMs that can speak you're language) said that my name will sound Korean. Sorry I lost my SD card so no pictures this week. :( Oh ya shout out to Elder Fehoko he decided to wait to play football at stanford after his mission. He is great guy! He is so humble. He is the number one pick in football for Utah this year!

Week 4 MTC-언야하사유!

언야하사유! So this week has gone by way fast! Not much happened so this letter might be a little short. So I guess I'll start off with a funny/slightly inappropriate story so I one of my lessons I was going to say, "Hi I am a missionary." and I accidentally said, "저는 선유사 임니다." which means I am a prostitute the only sound difference is the ng and the n sound. The right way is "저는 성유사 임니다." So that was interesting there are so many word that sound so similar its scary!  Oh I never knew how sweet the song Follow the Prophet is!
Me and Elder Dougherty.
Its like the closest thing to rap and everyone was getting into it at the devotional. I got a picture with Elder Dougherty. Its nice seeing him almost everyday. Can't wait to see Elder Nettlton and Elder Shumway today.

Now I'll tell ya somethings about the MTC... This is the fourth week I have been constipated. They feed you a lot of food. In fact I've gained 13 pounds! I am now 223 lbs. I have gym time in the mornings I usually play volleyball and four square. I would go lift but their weight room sucks and theres no free weights. Then I have personal study from like 9 am - 12:30 then lunch then class where we get taught the language and how to teach lessons for 3 hours then go eat dinner then have class again until 9:30 then i go to sleep. Pretty exciting right?  P-days I wake up and go to the temple first thing in the morning then i go take a 2 hour nap. then go eat lunch with the bros then we go do luandry and email then I try to look for the new people i know. Then i go to gym time until dinner and after dinner we have class until 9:30.
Elder Redford again...

Selfie on the temple walk.

This is Elder Wong he is awesome! He is such a funny guy
I love having him in our branch. Hes from Hong Kong so thats sweet.
